Announcing a Rs. 100 crore package for an underground piped water supply project for the town, the Chief Minister on his recent visit said all the major nullahs that drain into river Mahanadi will be renovated. He said the BJD led Odisha Government will bear the cost of the examination and treatment of those infected by jaundice. He also said adequate number of toilets will be constructed in different parts of the town to stop people from defecating in the open.
