Odisha Government to adopt a special Road Safety Policy. This was informed by the Commerce and Transport Minister Ramesh Majhi on Thursday. He said the State Government would soon adopt a special Road Safety Policy which would include a provision to award rescuers of accident victims.
Various issues relating to road safety were discussed at the meeting. It was decided that accident prone areas would be identified and appropriate steps would be taken to check accidents. Besides, it was stressed that road checking would be expedited to curb drunk-driving. Encroached footpaths and cycle tracks would be evicted.
