In a bid to provide drinking water to every house of all urban local bodies (ULBs) in Odisha, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik inaugurated as many as 182 drinking water supply projects and laid foundation stones of 555 others through video conferencing at a function organised at the Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Patnaik said the step will give hundred per cent pipe water coverage to every street, every habitation and every house of all the 113 ULBs of the state. The work will be completed in one year time and will benefit mostly the urban poor, the CM said. Earlier in the day, Patnaik inaugurated a water testing laboratory at Palasuni in Bhubaneswar at an estimated cost of Rs 66 crore.
