The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won the Deogarh municipality by-poll as its two candidates registered victory in the election for the post of two councillors. While the polling was conducted yesterday, counting of votes and declaration of results took place today. Ahinsa Nayak, BJD candidate for ward no 1, defeated his nearest rival Roshan Behera of BJP by 71 votes. While Nayak got 523 votes, Behera got 452.Similarly, Kula Chandrama Hasti, BJD candidate for ward no 9, beat his nearest rival Rajkumar Munda of BJP by 197 votes. While Hasti got 582 votes, Munda ended up with 385 votes.
