The state government has urged the Centre seeking amendments in the Forest Rights Act (FRA) with an aim to extend its benefits to traditional forest dwellers(TFDs) other than the schedule tribe (ST) communities.In a letter to Union tribal affairs minister Shri Jual Oram, chief minister Shri Naveen Patnaik said benefits of the FRA have largely been extended to the ST communities and not to the other TFD including scheduled caste (SC) and other backward classes.
