Cementing Entrepreneurship through Mission Shakti: 1313 SHGs Receive Loans worth over Rs 35 Cr in Ganjam’s Rangeilunda Block in FY’23 So Far

Reaffirming his commitment to strengthen grassroots women entrepreneurship through Mission Shakti movement, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has distributed loans worth more than Rs 35 crore to 1313 self-help groups (SHGs) in Rangeilunda block in Gopalpur Assembly Constituency in Ganjam district so far this financial year.

At a mega Mission Shakti loan mela which saw gathering of more than 12,000 women at the Balaji Vidyapeetha ground near Rangeilunda Block office on Friday, loans worth more than Rs 21 crore were distributed to around 767 SHGs in the block.

Addressing the gathering through virtual mode, the Chief Minister said that Mission Shakti has given a new identity for all women in Odisha.

Mission Shakti loans would immensely assist in development of entrepreneurship among the women SHGs, the CM said.

The Chief Minister said that all WSHGs in Ganjam district will get credit linkage within next four months.

Naveen also advised the WSHGs to properly utilize the financial assistance for sustainable entrepreneurship.

Speaking on the occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram said that Mission Shakti has played a major role in strengthening the economic backbone of women.

Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, BeMC Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai, BeMC Deputy Mayor E. Vivek Reddy and Ganjam Zilla Parishad Vice President S Rajeswari Dora attended the programme.

Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, CDO-cum-EO, ZP, Ganjam Keerthi Vasan V, BeMC Commissioner J. Sonal, Berhampur Sub-Collector Kulkarni Ashutosh C and other officials participated in the programme.

Rangeilunda Block Chairman Ch. Usha Rani, Vice Chairman Anita Mahankuda, BDO Biswajit Rai, Konisi Tahasildar Pralayananda Satapathy, CDPO Jyostna Padhi, BEO Shantilata Muni and others were also present on the occasion.

The programme organized by the Ganjam district administration saw a great enthusiasm among the women entrepreneurs in Rangeilunda block.
